Reference Library
In the reference library you can look for references. This means that you can't find books, reports or articles as such, but only references to them. For example, if you search for information on the JYKDOC database (Database of the University of Jyväskylä) using the entry Uotila Pekka you could get the following screen with the following information:
As the example shows, you can get all the information you need for example for requesting and organising an inter-library loan, but you can't get hold of the material via the net. However, in the Virtual Library of Metodix you can search for materials that are immediately available via the net.
If you need basic information and guidance on searching for information you can read through the guidebook on how to search for information. You can also use the net bookstores that provide extensive reference databases of books. It is good to know that you don't necessarily need to buy anything, since browsing the databases is free in all the net bookstores.
